Starter Weapons in Gun Escape

Do not upgrade until the pistol is boring. Then buy the blast that changes the map.

Starter Weapons

The loadout you already have

You spawn with a pistol. Official shots: silver slide, small spark, avatar mid-hop over cracked grass. That gun is not a punishment. It is the ruler you use to measure the map before you change the ruler.

Your starter loadout is:

  • Pistol (equipped)
  • Green fire HUD
  • Zero paid passes required
  • Optional lump from group rewards

That is enough to finish cube highways. It is not enough to pretend lava is easy.

When to keep the pistol

Keep it until all of these are true:

  1. You can land four cubes with one shot each.
  2. You understand that a second shot cracks the tile.
  3. You have claimed like-and-join, so the first buy is cheaper in time if not in sticker price.
  4. You can watch a shotgun user fly past without chasing them into the void.

If you fail (1) or (2), a bigger gun will only move the crash farther away. Go back to getting started and controls.

When to buy shotgun-class

Buy when the pistol line is boring. Boring means you are finishing it. The shop row you want is the one that looks like the official shotgun: wood stock, huge flash, implied long shove. If two rows look like pistols with different colors, they are not the spike.

Spend the gift + farm from how to get Wins on that one row. Do not “nibble” three 5% upgrades. Nibbles do not change geometry.

The ten-minute test after the buy

  1. Empty server if you can.
  2. Same four cubes, no jump, new gun.
  3. If you overshoot, aim lower. If you still overshoot, add no jump and wait longer between shots.
  4. Only then attempt the lava lip from beat levels.

Failing the test and buying a third gun is how starter accounts go broke.

What not to buy first

  • Trails, auras, name colors
  • Pets unless a changelog note says knockback
  • A second pistol “for style”
  • Anything advertised on a YouTube overlay that is clearly Keyboard Escape

If the card does not mention knockback, range, blast, or launch, it is not a starter weapon. It is a mall kiosk.

Mobile starters

Your first enemy is the HUD, not the shop. Landscape, fire button visible, jump unused. A shotgun on a portrait phone is a lottery. Fix controls before you spend.

Sharing a pad with a shotgun user

They will leave the cube faster than you. Do not fire as they leave hoping to ride their myth. You will crack the tile they just stressed. Wait. Your starter pistol needs a clean plant more than it needs a crowd.

After the spike

You are no longer a starter. Use the weapons page for later rows and the tier list hub for spend order. Come back to this page only when you reroll an account or help a friend.

Tick “first shotgun-class buy” on the progress checklist so you remember the test exists.

Keep the pistol in the bag if the game lets you swap. A tiny gap after a huge blast is a real use case. Most runs should still main the shotgun once it is paid for.

That is the starter plan: bore the pistol, buy the blast, pass the cube test, then touch lava.

First session shopping script

Open the shop once. Screenshot the rows if you want to compare later on weapons. Buy the shotgun-class blast or buy nothing. Close the shop. The second open is how trails happen. If Wins are short of the blast, farm the highway with the pistol using how to get Wins until they are not. That delay is the starter weapon working, not a failed session. Tick the buy on the progress checklist only after the cube test, never after the receipt.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Gun Escape on Roblox.

Can I skip the pistol entirely?

Only if a gift or pass starts you on shotgun-class. Otherwise the pistol is the tutorial. Use it.

I bought a cheap upgrade and nothing changed.

That was a sidegrade. Save for the shotgun-class row that changes the muzzle flash.

Should I sell the pistol?

If the game has no sell, just stop equipping it. If it lets you swap, keep it for tiny gaps.

Do codes give a starter gun?

No public codes are verified. Group like-and-join is a lump, not a named gun, unless your toast says otherwise.
